How To: Hang & Tag your items

Materials
white & yellow cardstock, fastners, zip ties,
Ziploc bags, tagging guns, hangers, safety pins

You just bring your items to sell
(& a laptop if you need to input your sale items).
and we'll provide the rest!

(Your Registration Fee pays for these materials)
It's fun to CONSIGN at the
Lynden Kids Market!
It's a great way to pass your
gently-used items
onto local families in our community
and to make some extra CASH.

  • Email us to make arrangements to pay $7 registration fee online or by mail along with consignor agreement.

  • Collect the items you will be selling & familiarize yourself with the MyCm system.

  • Choose your selling price, whether or not to offer them at 50% off during final sale hours & whether or not to DONATE them following the sale.  Enter the items into your MyCm account accordingly.

Decide which percentage of your sales you'd like to receive & choose your volunteer shifts accordingly.

A minimum 4 hour shift is required to earn 70% of your item sales.
(can be broken up into 2 - 2 hour shifts).

If you cannot meet your 4 hour shift requirement, you will only receive 60% on your consigned items. Lynden Kids Market cannot be successful without the help of volunteers.

Tags
Each item will have a tag. Tags will be generated by inputing information about each item into MyCM. If you choose to print your tags at home, they MUST be printed on card stock paper.  If the item & will be donated following the sale, print the tag on yellow card stock.  If you would like the item back if it does not sell, please print the tag on white card stock.  Tags should be hung under the RIGHT armpit or RIGHT side-seam at waist level. (Holding hung article facing you, the tag would be on the right.)
OPTIONAL: 1) Masking Tape tag: This type of tag is simply a piece of masking tape with your seller number on it. This tag is placed on your item somewhere other than on the detailed tag. This tape tag is optional BUT is for your protection should an item lose its tag. Preferred spot for this tag would be on the items size tag (usually on the neck).

Consignor Number
The consignor number will be automatically
generated onto all of your tags.

Size
Mark children’s clothes with a number size. Do NOT use S, M, L, XL or waist sizes. Please estimate number size if necessary.
For maternity brand items, DO use S, M, L, XL. Small (0-6), Medium (8-12), Large (14-18), XL (20+).

Item Description
Provide a brief description and use name brand if it applies (i.e. Navy blue Osh Kosh boy shirt with sailboats). Please specify gender on ALL clothing and shoe items. If an item fits smaller or larger, please note on tag in description area (i.e. 12 months, but fits more like 6 months). This way it won't be moved to the wrong section.

Price
Prices must be in FIFTY CENT INCREMENTS. This is because of our 50% off sale. If an item does not have a price on it, a fair price will be put on it. In order to sell your items, remember that people are looking for garage sale prices. Ask yourself, "What would I PAY for this item?"

Donation Designation
If an item doesn’t sell, do you want it back? If your answer is no, we ask that you PLEASE mark it for donation(and print a YELLOW tag). If you want your item back, we will sort your items for pickup. If items are not picked up by the designated time, they will become property of Lynden Kids Market or be donatedWe're sorry, but we CANNOT hold items unless previous arrangements have been made.

Hanging Items (Clothing)
All garments must be on a hanger, facing left when looking at the garment, like a question mark. This is VERY important. If clothing is hung the wrong way, it MUST be corrected before being entered into the sale. Even small clothing items such as onesies and gowns sell better when placed or pinned to a hanger.

Please use pants hanger to hang pants (which we can provide to you). Do NOT fold pants over as they will fall off the hanger.  Also, please use safety pins (or tagging gun) to secure any items that do not hang snugly on the hanger. Maternity pants should be tagged in the same way, but instead of being hung on a hanger, should be folded with the tag showing (or put on an adult pant hanger).

Small Items
For small items, other than clothing, or if you want to bunch several items, please put them together in a Ziploc bag (i.e. 5 pair of socks, matching gloves, hat and scarf, small toys, etc.). Please secure the tag to the outside of the bag with a strip of clear packing tape. If a toy is small enough to fit in a quart-size bag, please put it in a bag. Please put crib sheets, baby towels, washcloths, and receiving blankets in a bag also.

Large Items
For large items, attach tag, using a strip of clear packing tape, to a highly visible area (i.e. on the bike seat, on the headboard of a baby bed, etc.). If the tag can be pinned, please use a safety pin (i.e. on a stroller). If the item requires batteries, they must be included and in working order. Please also use a masking tape tag for all large items, and for each piece if multiple pieces exist.

Books
You may choose to tag books individually by putting the tag on the FRONT of the book with clear packing tape or in a Ziploc bag to ensure the removal of the tag does not damage the book. Books may also be grouped together in one Ziploc bag.

Shoes
For children’s shoes, zip-ties will be available for your use. Please put a piece of masking tape with your consignor number on the inside bottom of EACH shoe.Just in case the tag falls off, we'll know which consignor it belongs too.

Toys
If toys are battery operated, you MUST include batteries and make sure they and the toy are in working order. Secure extra small parts in Ziploc bags. Secure tags on the outside of the bags with a strip of clear packing tape. Also, seal bag with clear packing tape.

Car Seats
No car seat will be sold that has been in a car accident or that is more than 5 years old. An information form on your car seat must be filled out before it will be placed in the sale. These forms will be available at drop-off or Click Here for Carseat Waiver Form.
